When you register we collect your name, date of birth, gender and email address. We also collect your approximate location (city and country) derived from your IP address at registration — your exact coordinates are never stored. During your conversations with the AI we store your conversation history and a structured profile summary derived from it.
Your conversation history and profile summary are used to create a picture of who you are and what you're looking for — solely for the purpose of finding a meaningful match for you. Profile summaries are converted to vector embeddings and compared with other approved users. No data is used for advertising.
We process your personal data on the following bases: contract performance (to provide the matching service), legitimate interest (to prevent abuse and improve the service), and consent (for optional data you choose to share).
We use the following services to run ember:
When you request account deletion it enters a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel. After 7 days all your data is permanently deleted: your user record, conversation history, profile summary and all photos you have shared.
Matches are determined by an algorithm based on your profile data and vector similarity — no manual review takes place. You have the right to contact us with questions about how a specific match was determined.
Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest via Supabase. Database access is restricted. In the event of a data breach we will notify affected users and, where required, report to the Swedish data protection authority (IMY) within 72 hours.
Under GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and all associated data (via Settings → Delete account), restrict processing, object to automated decision-making, and request data portability. Contact us at privacy@emberdating.tech to exercise these rights.
